Effortless

So I'm usually opposed to the 'shorts with leggings' trend (tights I can tolerate) but this girl is an exception. I saw this photo and I couldn't believe how awesome the outfit was. Here are the basics:

Where?:The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
Who?: Jessica Moreno
Wearing: M.I.A. T-shirt and leggings, vintage cutoff shorts and sunglasses, Converse trainers

The pattern on those leggings are sick! I love the colours. I love the shoes. I love the sunglasses. I love everything about this oufit! Although, I'm sure I could never pull it off as well. I wish I had the same crazy cool style. It appears to be so effortless for some people. Psht. As it is wasn't already good enough...The girl is carrying a goddamn Sidekick. AKA my dream phone since forever.

Sorry to be lame but this outfit is truely insanely epic. Good job Miss Jessica Moreno. (photo from Style.com)

It Happens Everytime

Baby Down on Dream Street Getting tired of all the 90's (and early 2000's) music flash back posts? You better get use to it because I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Remember Dream Street? I wasn't a huge fan of them..actually this is the only song that I know of. Regardless, I had a huge huge huge crush on Chris Trousdale. I can't recall if it was his organge tan, frosted tips, or spikey gelled hair that attracted me to him. Ha! Oh and how cute is JMac? He almost looks exactly the same as he does today. Speaking of JMac...As you may or may not know, Jesse has joined the cast of Greek (Currently my favorite TV show!). I was skeptical at first but he's not that bad. New episode on tonight. Sucks that I have yto watch it online since Canada does have ABC. I can't wait!

Seriously...This show is insanely good. Full of hot guys (haha) *cough* Scott Michael Foster *cough*, plus it's really funny too! Check it out if you already haven't. It'll make you want to join a sorority/fraternity for sure!

Talk about inspiration

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen show off her modeling chops in a recent photoshoot. How great are these photos? The outfits are insane. Especially the last one.

I ♥ Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens looks amazing in this months issue of In Style UK. I love her. The outfits are great too! More photo's here.

As you may have noticed. I changed my whole layout. The gray was getting depressing. I'm not too big on my current header though...You like?

I MISS THE 90'S

Anyone remember the band 'Wave'? Their most popular song would have to be 'California'. I was just listening to it on my ipod and I randomly searched up the music video on Youtube.
After watching it I turned to the related videos section. It listed a ton of other 90's (and early 2000's) bands. Do you remember the band 'Sky'? I loved their song 'Some Kinda Wonderful'. It also brought me to Mandy Moore's video for 'Crush'. I still remember all the lyrics! Someone commented on one of the video's saying:

"MuchMusic was better in the late 90's, but then in the early 2000's it started to get material from VH1, then around 2004 it started getting more from MTV. Sad that CTVGlobemedia owns MuchMusic and MTV Canada, Much More Retro is good, and so is MUCH Loud and Vibe, but Much More Music also sucks, except for a few shows."

^^I totally agree. Much music/Much More Music was awesome in the 90's (So was YTV!). Pop-up video anyone? :)

Listening to all this music made me feel so nostaglic. I wish I had a time machine. I miss the 90's!
*I know I posted something like this before but I can't get enough! :P

Balmain

Credit to JustJared: Beyonce was seen dinning out with her hubby Jay-Z this past Monday (April 13). She looks great! Without even reading you can totally tell she's wearing Balmain. The funny thing is, I posted a set on Polyvore a couple days ago and the whole outfit is almost exactly the same as this. I paired the jacket with acid wash jeans and gladiator heels. Check it out here.

Little fact: Did you know that that partciular Balmain jacket goes for $11,00+! *Sigh* there goes my dream of ever owning one. Why must all these designer clothes only be available to the super rich?!?

[insert something clever here]

I found this picture on OceanUp and I think it's from the same photo shoot from the pictures I posted a while ago. I love this whole editorial! Everything down to the wardrobe choices to the background is awesome. I wonder what magazine she did it for? If anyone knows, let me know.

Apparently it's Emma's 19th birthday today so happy birthday!

On to a more negative note. Sorry for the lame post title. I feel like my posts lately have just been endless amounts of me bashing celebrities. If not bashing celebrities, I'm criticizing other random people. When I first made this blog I had no intention of becoming a mini Perez Hilton. Although...I wouldn't mind all the success he's had. Although it might be hard, I'm going to try to lay off the celebrity bashing for a while. I don't know how long that's going to last but I'll give it a try.

*I haven't gotten any hits since I reached 200. I guess that means I won't be expecting another massive amount of visitors anytime soon. I knew it was too good to be true. :)

That's unusual

My blogs been getting more hits than usual over the past 2-ish days. The other day I checked my profile views and it said '160'. I checked again the same day before bed and it said '170'. I checked again this morning and it says '190'. I checked it again just right now and it says...wait for it...200!

30 views over the course of 2 days. Wow! I know that might not seem like a lot to most people, but I never expected this blog to even reach 100 hits in the first place.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed to that 30 hits, and thanks to everyone who visits in the future! :)

GUEST BLOGGER EDEN ON 'NILEY'!

So this next post was written by the lovely Eden from the blog 'With a Chance of Eden'. Check it out here. Enjoy!

I love you Nicholas, but what were you thinking when you got up this morning? Was it just 'hoo hah, I feel like looking like a dwarf today', because honestly, that outfit is not doing anything for you. If your stylist suggested it, fire her. If she saw you leave all clad in that goofy getup, fire her for not stopping you. I don't feel the need to go into detail about your hideously tight 'New York Soul' shirt or your .. what are those? Jeans? Because it would take me forever. And don't worry, I won't tell my mother that you stole her nurses shoes either. I think she'd get mad.

And then you go and top a hideous outfit with the New York Yankee's hat? Are you even from New York? If anything you should be wearing shirts that have Sporting logo's from New Jersey or Texas. Anyways, enough of your hideous outfit. Let's move on to Miley. What she's wearing is okay for the most part. She's playing it a bit Southern girl safe. She could be a bit more risky with her style. And I really must say that I do not like the boots. They'd be nicer if they weren't round and the top and if they weren't flat.

Now, your purpose for hanging out in public together is ... what? You guys are asking for it. Now little 'Niley' teenies are going to go crazy because of what you guys did and I'm not sure that any of you are in any suitable condition to drive. Is it even legal to be a sixteen year old driver and not have a legal 25+ driver in the car with you? Wow. Disney stars are slipping through the law now, huh? Absolutely pathetic. What're you guys going to do? Bribe the officers with your autographs? You don't own the world kiddies. And that ... was the last note. My mothers calling. She wants to know where her work shoes went. : )

Note from insanelyepic: That was hilarious! I couldn't have put it better myself. One thing though... I like Miley's shoes! Haha. Thanks again! :)

POLYVORE.

I've been pretty obsessed with Polyvore lately. It's so much fun! I have fun pretending to be a stylist (my dream job) for hours.

If you don't already know, Polyvore its a site where you can create different outfits (aka "sets") virtually. There are clothes, shoes, and accessories from different websites and stores that you can choose from. The items are listed in different categories based on type of clothing and you can even choose from a particular color. You can create a profile, collect favorite sets that you like, and connect to different people by adding them as contacts. Sometimes different clothing companies have contests to see who can create the best set using items from their store, and they award prizes and the winner is featured. It's fun and unleashes the inner fashion designer in all of us. Check it out if you already haven't.

Well onto my point. If you don't mind, it would be nice if you could check out my sets here (tell me if the links don't work). Focus on the most recent ones. The ones I made when I first started are crap! Tell me what you think. I want the truth! Am I hopeless? You tell me.

Thanks.

Side Note: I started Polyvore like 8 months ago. I was looking back at my old sets and apparently I was ahead of the who plaid shirt trend. Ha! :P

3 things

Three main things I learned today:

  1. Hannah Montana: The Movie was awesome.
  2. I heart Lucas Till (ish).
  3. Greek food=yummy.

Today I saw the Hannah Montana movie with 'ttav'. I can honestly say that I really enjoyed watching it. I don't care what anyone says. Regardless if it was predictable or not, the movie was awesome. The songs were catchy, the plot was good, and the acting wasn't bad. Oddly enough, there were a couple of old men watching it too. I guess Miley Cyrus isn't so bad sans Justin Gaston, the religious remarks, racy pictures, etc. I suppose you could say I don't hate her as much after seeing this movie. She did a good job on it. Anyways...For dinner my parents ordered take out at Stepho's. Like always, I ordered the Calamari dinner. We picked it up and parked in front of English Bay and ate in the car. Just my mom, dad, sister, and I. It was the perfect thing. Watching the sunset, the water, all the lights.

A great ending to a perfect day.

Miley Cyrus gets pwnd

Youtube singer Alyssa Bernal sings Miley Cyrus' song "The Climb". I personally prefer this version. I love her videos! Her "Drive my Soul" by Lights cover is really good too. She also looks a hell of a lot like Vanessa Hudgens dontcha think? Kind of freaky.

EDIT 4/10/09: I take that back. I like both versions. Miley just butchers the song when she sings it live. Other than that it's good. :)

Back in the day

I was surfing Youtube the other day I came across some old '3LW' music videos. This really brought on a lot of old memories. One thing lead to another and before you knew it I was searching up ancient music videos from the 90's. Boy do I miss the 90's/early 2000's! Remember the TV shows 'Uh-oh' and 'The Hit List'? Pop music and TV back then was pretty enjoyable.

Of course you have the Backstreet Boys (I was OBSESSED!) and N'sync. But anyone remeber B44 or O-Town? How about 2gether and SClub 7? I wanted to be so much like Rachel. I remember watching their TV shows on Much Music. Who could forget Hanson, BBMak, or The Moffatts. Mmmbop is a classic! I also loved Westlife and Soul Decision. There were some great girl groups too like Spice Girls, Dream, Atomic Kitten, Play, A*Teens, and 3LW of course. Did I miss any?

I LOVE THIS SONG. It's not quite from the 90's (It's from 2000) but close enough. Classic!

Oh my, oh my, B44. This is like the epitome of 90's teen pop music.

The funny thing is. After all these years I still remeber the lyrics to all the songs.

For me, the 90's were the years of Boy Bands, Light Brite, Boy Meets World, Full House, Carmen San Diego, Tamagotchi, Playstation, and Lisa Frank. When frosted tips were actually desirable in a guy and wearing a ponytail on the side of your head was cool. I could go on forever. Comment if I missed anything important.

What do YOU guys think? The 90's, Love it or Hate it? What were your favorite bands, TV shows, and just other things in general.

Hope it brings back as much memories for you as it did for me. Enjoy!

JUMPER

Oh boy.

How NOT to wear a jumpsuit.

How to wear a jumpsuit.

I'm down with the jumpsuit trend. If worn correctly, I think it looks rather cute. I don't like that particular one on Debby so much. I'm sure Jane could rock it though. Although, I don't think I could pull one off myself. I was thinking of trying a Maxi Dress instead. Old Navy has some nice, affordable ones. Getting it hemmed is going to be a bitch though. I hate being short sometimes.

I'm going to go to bed now...Dream happy dreams about Pelayo Diaz and whatnot. Haha.

One last thing. I just realized that blogger had spell check. I accidentally stumbled over it and was like WTF. That would have saved me a lot of time in the past. I can be such a ditz sometimes..

-G'night, xox.

THE REAL WORLD: BROOKLYN FINALE!

The Real World: Brooklyn season finale was on yesterday. Did any of you watch it? In total I watched The Real world for 3 hours straight. 6pm-7 was last weeks show, 7-8 was the finale, and 8-9 was the reunion episode. I think this season was probably one of my top 3 favorites of all time. Number one would be Sydney, then Denver, and now Brooklyn. I know some would argue that it was boring (one of my friends even called it 'the boringest season ever'); however, I thought it was refreshing not always having to see people hooking up, getting drunk, partying, etc. I liked how this season you got to know the cast on a more personal level. Especially Ryan. I actually cried when he found that he had to go back to Iraq. I hated to see him and the rest of the cast cry. I really hope he comes home safe. I wonder why him and Belle split up, but I'm glad he's with Baya. I also liked getting to know more about Scott. In the begining, I saw him as a stupid meat headed jock who was full of himself. I thought it was super sweet how he just gave Katelynn the $1500 and said that she didn't have to pay him back. I loved seeing Chet's style. His whole Orville Redenbacher look is the shit. I didn't really like any of the girls this season. Devyn and Baya are okay I guess. During the reunion Sarah and Katelynn were being such bitches. It was totally out of line how they blamed JD for the pranks they played, the night before they were leaving. All in all it was a great season. I'm sad that it's over.

Not looking forward to the next season in Cancun though. I'm sure that's bound to be full of sex, partying, and drama. Ugh. Why not just make it in Cabo for gosh sakes (sarcasm)! Maybe they should tape on in Vancouver. Haha.

-xox.
Side Note: The "Tampon song" is going to be a huge hit one day. Just you watch. =)

Yeah Right

At a recent interview, Kevin Jonas was asked about the whole Twilight craze. His response?

“I just recently saw the first one, actually. I watched it on the plane and it was really good. I was blown away."

Blown Away? You're kidding me. Sorry Kev. It was good, but it wasnt THAT good.

Into the Wild

I watch the movie 'Into the Wild' (from 2007) yesterday after school. I've always seen it being played on Movie Central but never bothered to watch it.

It was possibly one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen but... I loved it. One of my favorites to be honest.

Three things I learned:

  1. Emile Hirsch is very, very, good looking. Like insanely good looking.
  2. Kristen Stewart can't sing (but she can play the guitar well).
  3. No matter what, KStew will always have a bitch face.
Really guys. Go see it. I think I'm going to read the book now. *Random note: It was written by Jon Krakauer. Does 'Into Thin Air' from grade 8 ring a bell?*
